2016 Family Cruise on Sapphire Princess: Come Back New (Day 3-Visiting Langkawi)

We move on to our Day 3 on Sapphire Princess. If you have missed our experience on Day 1 and Day 2, check them out here Sapphire Princess Day 1 & Sapphire Princess Day 2

On Day 3, Sapphire Princess stopped for Langkawi. We decided to get down for our visit around 11am. After our hearty breakfast at Horizon Court, we proceeded to disembarking the ship. The ship was floating apart from the jetty as Royal Carribean Ship - Mariner of the Sea was already docked at the Star Cruise Jetty. So, we had to take a small ferry to the island. Again, it was a hot day at Langkawi. We were excited for our visit to the Underwater World Langkawi. There were a few major attraction at Langkawi i.e. Underwater World, Wildlife Park, Cable Car Ride, Oriental Village, Pantai Cenang and etc. But I have decided to go for Underwater World as my son and parents love to see fishes.

On the ferry to go to jetty

We tried to get a cab from Resort World Langkawi, but I find that the taxi services was very bad. Can you imagine tourists were queuing outside the resort lobby waiting for taxis? The lobby steward informed that taxis there will seldom come into the resort as they prefer parking along the main road offering whole day tour and not short distance tour for people like us. Finally, the same resort lobby steward used their own van to send us and a few guests from the resort to Cenang. he charged us RM12 for the 5 min ride there which was reasonable.

Then, we began our exploration in Underwater World. Again, enjoy the pictures we took of the beautiful marine life inside.

Welcome to Underwater World Langkawi

After our tour, we went for our duty free shopping and also souvenir shopping. I got some lovely key chains for my colleagues and best friends.

Heading back to the ship

Bye Langkawi

We then go back to the same jetty and wait to go back onboard again as it was really hot on Langkawi. My son literally got sun burnt the next day - with cute red cheeks and chin. Haha. The hot weather also made him super tired and he fell asleep in my husband's arms while in the ferry. So we quickly got back into the Piazza and put him down on the comfy sofa for his nap. We, the adults, had our hearty lunch at the International Cafe and Alfredo Pizzeria! The pizza was just so-so compared to the delicious Ham and Cheese Croissont that my parents and me loved most on the ship! We literally had it every day!

Sun set soon

My hubby and I went to explore some of the restaurants and made a booking for the Sabatini's Italian Restaurant for that night. We were keen to try out Lobsters using the free USD given to us during our cruise. As I had mentioned in my post here the cost per pax at Sabatini's is USD25 nett per pax for ala carte 'buffet'. You can always reorder if you can eat, but believe me, with the full 5 course meal, your stomach will not have anymore space for 2nd round. Here's what we had for the Fine Dining Dinner that day!

Looking at the menu

Starter provided by the chef. But, we don't like it. It's smoked ham.

Lovely ambience for dinner

Waiting for food to arrive

  Me and my man

 Muacks

Seafood soup - mussels my favourite

 Fried calamari starter

Seafood spaghetti - mum's portion

Hubby's steak - with super salty beans

Our main target for the dinner - lobster!

 Bon apetite!

Desserts - very chocolaty tiramisu with rich coffee ice cream

Coffee creme brulee - sweet

After our dinner around 9.15pm, we quickly headed to the Princess Theater for our second show on the ship. Thath night was a performance by a vocalist from America. I could not remember his name, but he has a very beautiful voice and he is very handsome for sure (though i couldn't see him closer). We were seated very far away for sure but from the voice, I can bet he is good looking! =P. He presented a round 10 songs. Along which included a few chinese songs. Yes! Chinese songs. He sang chinese song man! Very accurate chinese accent

After the show, we all walked around the ship and then head back to our cabin. Good night!
