Christmas 2013 with Hubby

This year, my hubby and I celebrated Christmas together at Ipoh. Previous year we were bond together on Christmas. So this year we can consider that we are celebrating our first anniversary together =)

Hubby brought me out for dinner at Olivenz. One unfortunate thing is he will be working on Christmas day itself, and we have agreed to celebrate our Christmas earlier with little baby. The dinner was awesome and somehow I felt the romance in the air. People are staring at us when we feed each other food and laughed at silly stuff we saw online via our phone ^^

After dinner, we had a walk at Tesco to do some shopping (Nah, shopping is a norm thing for married couples). We bought ourselves a pair of CNY couple tee. I got mine in pink while hubby's one is red

We also decorated our home with the lovely Christmas tree just to have the Christmas feel. I was proud of my hardwork. =P Although I am pregnant, but it did not stop me from making our home feel 'Home Sweet Home'.

I gave my hubby the first christmas present this year. =) Along with it I included a DIY christmas card for him.

I created the bells with buttons. Cute eh?! Hehe. As for the inside, I created a 3D effect with the shape of a present at the middle of the card. Just want to make the card looks more special. =)

I wish everyone Merry Christmas and also Happy New Year 2014 !! ^^

I AM GONNA BE A MUMMY SOON!!!

Looking at the post title you should have known what I am going to write here in this post ^^

Yup, you are right. I am going to be a mother in like less than a month. To be honest, I am very very nervous, and so is my husband. We both are new at being a parent and we do not know what to expect. We just hope everything will be fine =)

I am now at 36th week and by just imagining how I would look like...I think you can imagine I am 'huge' with a round belly. HAHA..Well, my belly is big now, but overall I did not appear to be gaining lots of fat. Although I have gained a lot of weight, but so far the weight is not visible. LOL...

I have been like 'gone' from social network after I have married and I believe that most of my friends are wondering how am I doing, how is my baby doing and so on. Just to inform my dearest friends, I am doing fine here in Ipoh. Currently resting at home waiting for the new member to arrive to our family. I must say that I do enjoy my time at home, doing housework, exercise and enjoy my pregnancy life.

I want to share my experience throughout my pregnancy in this post. Just like any other pregnant mums, I had the same experience like all of them. Pregnancy are divided into 3 trimesters and we have to go through various physical, mental and emotional changes throughout all the trimesters. My first 3 months was not easy for me. Just like other mummies, I had bad nausea and vomiting. I vomit almost everyday and the worst scenario was 6-7 episodes of vomiting a day. When I went for the first checkup in government clinic, I was referred to doctor and also hospital admission. I had hyperemesis gravidarum- a condition where pregnant mums had serious episodes of vomiting and nausea leading to dehydration. The doctor tried to hydrate me back in the clinic but they failed and so, I had to be admitted to the hospital for further management. Thank god. I was ok after a night stay in Hospital Ipoh. The doctor gave me anti-nausea drug and I was so much better after that. During my stay in the hospital, the gynea specialist performed an ultra sound for my baby. I was so happy to see my baby for the first time. Although the baby is not fully formed, but roughly I could see the shape and the heart. When the specialist paused the scan, I could see my baby is moving actively in my womb. Can you imagine the feeling?? There is a new life growing in me and I must take good care to protect it...

For the first 3 months was the most critical time for all mummies because the placenta is not strong and stable yet. Thus, I had to be careful all the time wherever I go and whatever I do. By doing so, it helps to reduce the changes of miscarriage. In addition, we have to control our diet because based on chinese beliefs, there are many 'cold' foods are not allowed especially in the first 3 months, while some have to be omitted the whole pregnancy. I followed all the advice and 'pantang's. No pineapple, no watermelon, no herbal drinks, no winter melon, no DURIAN!!!...and bla bla bla...Although it is REALLY TOUGH to go through strict diet, but it is for the benefit of the baby, so no harm following it ^^ After the first 3 months, you will go into 2nd trimester, which is the BEST period of pregnancy. During this period, the bad nausea and vomiting slowly gone and appetite is slowly picking up. Here, my weight slowly goes up, just like my baby is growing up day by day. During this trimester, focus on healthy food choices, which are rich in calcium (milk and dairy products), protein (lean meat, eggs, nuts) and sufficient carbohydrate and healthy fats. Not only that, as the baby grows, more blood will be produced and thus, foods high in iron are also important. Besides taking good diet, doctor will prescribe supplements (iron, vitamin C, folic acid and vitamin B) and always remember to take it daily ^^ In addition, mother should undergo physical activities as frequent as possible. Not only it helps to maintain healthy weight gain, it also can promote smooth labor (exercise can enhance muscle contraction and enhance vaginal opening during labor so that the baby can come out more easily).

Now, coming to 3rd trimester, I would say this trimester is also not a smooth period for pregnant mums. As the baby is growing bigger, you will start to feel discomfort especially around your abdomen because the baby will be kicking and stretching so hard that sometimes will accidentally pushed and kicked your ribs. I always experience that. OMG. Of course you will also feel heavier at your belly, and maybe experience difficulty to move fast like previously. But, for me, the worst case is back ache.As the baby is growing larger, the abdomen has to support growing weight and this causes the back bone to support it more and without proper posture, we can experience back ache easily. Yup. I do experience that..Poor thing. In fact, because of that, I have to lie down and rest my back. Back ache is not easy for me because it limits my movement and activities. Haiz..Anyway, it is going to come to an end soon.. =) In addition, I heard that mummies also experience ankle swelling and also fluid retention during the last trimesters. But, so far I did not experience that yet {touch wood!} maybe because I am active everyday doing brisk walking and sometimes going for underwater exercise =P. BTW, one awesome thing during the last trimester is BABY KICKING and HICCUPS. My baby kicks everyday and every hour. Strong kicks and stretches sometimes makes me quite painful too. This is the most wonderful thing during pregnancy because you can feel your baby is healthy and active in your womb. Not only that, they can hear you too. My husband talks to baby everyday day and night and he responds well to his daddy by moving, touching and kicking. For daddies, although you don't carry your own baby, it is crucial to communicate with baby when he/she is still in the womb. The baby can feel you and knows who is the daddy after birth. I feel that this can create a stronger bond between the baby and daddy after birth. My hubby is very happy every time he hears the kicks and heart beat. Sometimes our baby also hiccups (super cute) and hubby will laugh and smile hearing it.

Well, besides getting emotionally and mentally ready for the baby, we also need to get ready all the necessary stuffs for the new born ^^. Things like feeding bottle, diapers, nappy, baby clothes and bla bla bla need to be ready already by now. In fact, to prepare for a new born really need a lot of things. We bought lots of stuff for him.. Now as the days gets nearer, both me and my hubby are nervous and excited. We do not know what to expect and sometimes we both just can't sleep because many things are going through in our mind. I bet all new parents experience the same feeling during the first pregnancy =)

Overall, I feel that I am lucky throughout my pregnancy because I did not experience those bad symptoms and have to lie down all the time to rest. I am happy that I can go anywhere and move easily like pre-pregnancy. Also, I must thank God that I did not experience any pregnancy disease like gestational diabetes (high blood sugar level during pregnancy) or pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure during pregnancy). I have read other bloggers that had these problems and some were at the dangerous state where they have to take out their baby before full term. Really poor thing but luckily the babies are fine now. ^^ Therefore, I strongly believe that genders of babies are not very important. What is more important for me during pregnancy are that I do not want to have a suffering period during pregnancy and also hope that my baby is growing healthily and well, without any malformation and diseases.

So long for this post. ^^ Take care people and lots of love

A Little Sharing of My Married Life and Kick Start of Another Chapter of My Life

Dear Diary,

It has been a few months since I last dropped down a post here in my blog. I was really busy in the past few months. Many changes came about and most of it included, quitting my job in KL, moving back to Ipoh, finding new job (with our baby about 3months in my womb), preparing for pre-wedding photo shoot, arranging for wedding day, looking for house and etc. Phew...as a matter of fact, it is really really tiring. My husband and I faced a lot of challenges and there were times we were down and almost gave up due to these obstacles. Finding a new job and settling down back in Ipoh were the biggest decision we had made together. My husband is from Johor and he is willing to sacrifice everything to come back here and have our family together here. I am indeed very touched and appreciate his thoughtfulness of the coming preparation for our little one- who to take care of our baby when we work?! That was when the idea of having my parents to look after our baby came in, and that is why we are willing to move back to Ipoh and settle down there once and for all.

After we have moved back here to Ipoh, we looked for jobs and luckily, we have found one. Unfortunately, it was just a 'stepping stone' job as we were not appreciated by the company. =( Well, life is not always smooth sailing, right? We fall, and we stand up again. I had difficulty in finding a job due to my pregnancy. WTH! But never mind, I take this few months opportunity to rest and give the best attention to our baby. ^^ The story continues. So, we had our wedding ceremony completed on 16th September 2013. Due to insufficient data, I am not able to upload any pictures here in the blog but definitely, the day was the best moment for my husband and I. We were so damn nervous on that day, especially me. I was physically and mentally exhausted since 2-3 days before our wedding. Many preparations need to be done, and nobody was helping us except my besties. Until the day before wedding, I was even more exhausted and had a bad insomnia. My husband was not sleeping beside me and no matter how tired I was, my eyes just cannot close and rest my mind. I even cried for not being able to sleep =.=" and the next day, two swollen eyes and terrible dark circles. My bad! My makeup artist was shocked to see my eye bags and to be honest, I looked so  tired that morning =( But thankfully, everything went smooth and we are happily married now =)

Everyone is asking me, "How is your married life?" I was like,? "It's just the same as before" Haha... Indeed it is almost the same as previously because we have been living together like husband and wife, and now, it is the same. The only difference is that, our mind are focused on the beautiful pictures of our baby's arrival. Sometimes during the night, we will have our little pillow talk, imagining how our baby will be like..."He will suck his baby soother and sleep, and hubby will gently rub his little head, kissing him on the face, sayang him like nobody else". Beautiful isn't it?! ^^ My husband and I are excited and nervous awaiting baby's arrival. Count downing to 3 months before labor. OMG. It is really near. We two have been asking each other the same question.."Will I be a good mummy/daddy?" and we both reply the same, "Yes, you will be a good mummy/daddy. I have faith in you". Nobody have experience being a mum or dad, and the on-going practice and care will make us better and more confident as a parent. A lot of things are going to be tough and it will definitely test our patience and tolerance level. But, I have faith that if we do our best and patient, everything will be fine.. ^^ Hubby, you can do it. No worry. Just remember, we have each other to lean on and to rely on.. =) Everything will be fine and we will be GOOD DADDY & MUMMY for our little biri...

Ok, so long for this post..Shall update again soon...

Love,
Grace

My wedding

Counting the days, its been almost two months since I was married. And I still counting the days for our wedding ^^. People has been asking me the same question, “Aren’t you nervous for your big day?!” Well, I would say “NO!”. Somehow I don’t feel nervous at all. My hubby and I are together for short period of time but we somehow seem like we had known for years. And the fact that we are married, and our wedding is coming in 4 months time do not affect us. Sounds bad! But the true fact is, we are already ‘married’ when we are together. The togetherness and connection we have had bonded us since the first day we are together. As our wedding date getting nearer, I do feel a little nervous, as in I would want to appear to be his most beautiful bride, his wife and his soulmate. I mean, who doesn’t want to be that for their partner? This post is more like a diary to me..

His coming into my life has completely change my life. We never expect to be together. Our age gap is one of the biggest obstacles for most couples out there, but, somehow, this is not an obstacle for us. True love is not about judging anything or putting one whole list of criteria to be your partner. There is no right or wrong about love. We love each other, and we are happy together. We are glad that we had chosen each other. My hubby always says, “If time revert and if I had to choose again, I will still stick to my choice of being with you”. And if this question is thrown to me, I will answer the same too. Now, how he changed my life? I used to be a very naive girl (now still a little), stubborn and do not take people’s advice. To me, everyone is angel and no demon in this world. Everything is good and perfect. But my hubby had taught me many things and made me more mature now. He is a good analyst and what he said or analyse are 99.99% true. Last time I listened to what he said, but when I did not take his advice, I had to face the music myself. Poor thing. Also, what my hubby taught me had made me think more logically and learn to be smart at work.
Next, my hubby made my life more cheerful as he loves to make silly faces to make me laugh. One thing he can always make me smile is being himself. =) There is always one side of him that I really love. For being a loving, caring, protective and supportive husband. Nobody is perfect. My hubby is not perfect but I love him as himself.

Ok, now lets talk of something more intense. As you know, my wedding is on 16.9.2013 which is on Malaysia Day! Yahoo! I heard and saw many people plan a lot for their wedding. Hmmn, somehow we both did not plan anything for the wedding. LOL. My parents were the one doing the full planning all the time! OMG. Bad daughter. I want a simple and memorable wedding, whereby it is cost effective and special. The thing that I always wanted for my wedding is to be colorful. Previously I saw people use balloons from ‘Up’ movie for their wedding and I found that idea is very refreshing. Although this theme was used by others, but for my wedding, I also want the hall to be decorated with colorful balloons. I had even set a theme for my wedding, which is colorful, whereby my ‘sisters’ have to dress up with different color. Excited! My girls will looks charming that day!

Next, comes the pre-wedding photo shoot. Many people spent a lot for pre-wedding photo because most of them choose to take outdoor pictures whereby it WILL definitely cost more. You got to pay for the transportation, food, drink, tol, petrol (if need to travel far) and etc. For my pre-wedding photo shoot, we have decided to take studio photo. Now, just to share some experience for choose which bridal shop, always remember to check out a few shops, just for you to do some comparison of what packages they can offer to accommodate your needs and budget. From what we know, most bridal shops can offer roughly the same items or services, but the price can be different depending on what extra services or items included in it. The bridal shop I picked was purely based on my first feeling with each bridal shop. What I love about the bridal shop I picked is that the sales person there did not force us to decide on their offer, another thing is their computer designs for the wedding album is simple but it enhances the pictures. Some bridal shop does have many ‘background’ for their studio photo shoot. For eg, they use tables, chairs, sofa, windows, piano, and etc. But this bridal shop I picked mostly uses plain background for their pictures and with the added designs, the pictures looks so special. Simple but nice!

Another thing my friend suggested for my wedding photo shoot is to try Korean wedding style. I found that their wedding concept is really cute and the pictures mostly use good lighting and their pictures are more natural and alive! I have requested the bridal shop to do this style for my photo shoot. Lets just see how will be their reply ^^

As for other part of the wedding, I shall update more next time!

Another chapter of life

It's been really really ages since I last posted on my blog.

For the past few months, many things have changed me and I am grateful for the changes that I had faced through. They make me more mature, tougher and much more calm in handling things and difficulties.

I broke up with my ex BF of 5 years plus 3 months ago. The ending was pretty painful for him and also for my family. Honestly, I do miss him. Breaking up doesn't mean totally forget about him. I just removed all this photo from my blog. When I look into the pictures, I felt like I am looking at a stranger. WTH! I sound like I am heartless and no feelings. Honest word, when we broke up I do feel pain because I choose to let go of him, set myself free and accept a new love. I fall in love with another man and I have decided to let my ex go. People who knew us would think this is a waste as we had been together for so many years and the news of breaking up was totally unacceptable for them. My parents especially. But anyway, it ended with bad experience. I do hope he is doing alright now. No harm worrying my ex right? Anyhow he is still a friend to me =)

Ending a relationship and jumping into a brand new relationship is also unacceptable for alot of people out there. My colleagues and even my family. But anyhow, my bf now convinced them with his sincerity and on the same day itself after he met them, they waive green light and allow us to be together. ^^

My new relationship is a speedy relationship. Things just progress so quickly until we have decided to get married. Finding someone who is tele, having mutual understanding and able to support us when we are at the weakest time is not easy. I have found him. We just knew for few months, but the feeling is like as if we have known for ages. The feelings cannot be explained. The feeling is so strong that makes us wanna be closer together and seal the bond and get married. Furthermore, my family loves him so so much and they give their blessings for us. =)

We knew for approximately about 7 months now. But we have sealed our bond with marriage last week. With my parents and friends as our witnesses.  I must say that moment was the happiest of all. I felt like, nervous at the same time happy for being someone's wife.. Ok, let me share my experience registering my marriage...Well, first of all we must apply marriage from Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN). I bet many people don't know that to register marriage from JPN is not easy, especially when you and your partner are from different state. Like me and my hubby. He is from JB while I am from Ipoh. To apply for marriage, the application forms have to be sent back to the respective state's JPN, if we apply at any JPN. For eg, if we apply at Ipoh, he has to send the forms back to JB JPN, and vice versa. Kind of tedious right? But anyway, we applied our marriage with another method, which is via Thean Hou Temple (near Midvalley), whereby we can apply our marriage at any JPN, and then we can go to the temple and submit our forms, and get que for the ceremony and they will send the forms to our respective JPN for us. All we have to do is to pay slightly more, which we think is better and faster. Save all the hassles ^^

Okay, so we registered our marriage at Thean Hour Temple on 17th March 2013. =) My friends came and they took many lovely photos for our ROM. Before they came, we completed the ceremony in just 5 minutes. I guess you all don't know that after entering the room for the ceremony, all we did was signing the paper, saying "Yes, I do", and exchanges rings, take few pictures and we are done! The whole ceremony was only 5 minutes!!! Fast, simple and straight to the point! So, I would say, the temple place is really a good place for ROM, just slightly more expensive but we get things done quick and easy! Another credit is, the place is beautiful for pictures!
